A letter, signed by New Mexico’s attorney general is likely making its way to the Department of Justice, standing up for LGBTQ youth.
Attorney General Hector Balderas is joining forces with other attorney generals’ offices around the country.
It comes after the Department of Justices announced plans to revise the National Crime Victimization Survey.
It would eliminate collecting information about sexual orientation and gender from people under the age of 18.
Attorney General Balderas says the survey is a vital tool for the LGBTQ community and the DOJ’s action puts them at risk.
