ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexicans are honoring our nation’s veterans Friday.

Here in the metro, hundreds lined the streets for the annual Veterans Day parade. Men and women dressed in uniform and carrying flags marched their way from Bullhead Park to the Albuquerque Veterans’ Memorial.

Native American veterans are also being honored at Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. Dancers from multiple tribes are participating in a 4-hour gourd dance, a tradition that honors the bravery and sacrifice of those who have served in the military. That event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In Rio Rancho, residents also gathered at the Veterans Monument to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
