Dinners and other obligations paid for by the Governor’s Office will be under more scrutiny in the coming year.
The state supplies the governor’s “Contingency Fund” with $72,000 a year to be used for events like dinners, receptions and gifts for meetings and other occasions.
A new law going into effect January first allows for that fund to be audited and also returns unspent money from it to the state.
During her tenure, outgoing Governor Susana Martinez published quarterly summaries of her social spending.
