Dinners and other obligations paid for by the Governor’s Office will be under more scrutiny in the coming year.
The state supplies the governor’s “Contingency Fund” with $72,000 a year to be used for events like dinners, receptions and gifts for meetings and other occasions.
A new law going into effect January first allows for that fund to be audited and also returns unspent money from it to the state.
