Albuquerque’s homeless population will soon have a new place to turn for help.
After touring a Texas facility that provides job training, housing, health care and substance abuse treatment to homeless citizens there, Mayor Keller decided to create a similar space in Albuquerque.
They’re getting help from the greater Albuquerque Business Alliance.
“Homeless Vision 2018 would create one centralized facility in a safe place, a safe place somewhere where all the services can be located,” a city spokesperson said.
Officials say one possible location for the facility is a now vacant lot near the Metropolitan Detention Center.
