ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A new gas station in Albuquerque will pump out big bucks for the University of New Mexico.

Murphy USA has leased state trust land on Alameda and Cottonwood Drive and intends to build a gas station and walk-in convenience store there.

The lot has been vacant for years and the upkeep has been costing the state.

So now, under the agreement Murphy USA will pay the State Land Office $45,000 a year that will help fund UNM.
