The city has a new weapon to keep drivers out of a new bike crossing.

New, bright-white plastic “flex posts” have been installed in the middle of the bike crossing at 14th Street and Lomas Boulevard.

The crossing was built in October, but since then the city’s gotten numerous reports of drivers like this ignoring the warnings and cutting through.

The city built the crossing to help cyclists and pedestrians, cross busy traffic on Lomas.

Those new plastic posts can damage cars if they’re hit.
