ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The new sportsplex on Albuquerque’s Westside is now closer to becoming a reality.
The $18-million facility, which came in below the estimated cost, will be built next to the new Albuquerque Public Schools football stadium.
It will have five artificial turfs with lighting to accommodate both baseball and softball, a building for concessions, restrooms and a scout viewing area will also be included.
A groundbreaking is expected later this month and construction should wrap up by the end of the year.
The city is also planning a second phase of the project.
