Navajo Nation pushes for Code Talkers Monument

News

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Navajo Nation is urging Congress to fund a Navajo Code Talkers National Monument in Washington, D.C.

Last week, a committee approved legislation asking Congress to appropriate funds for the monument.

It would recognize the more than 350 Navajo Code Talkers for their service during World War II.

The resolution will now be sent to members of the U.S. Congress along with a supportive letter on behalf of the Navajo Nation.
