Navajo Nation mourns father, daughter killed in flash flood

GALLUP, N.M. (KRQE) – The Navajo Nation continues to mourn this morning after two people were killed in McKinley County after drowning in a flash flood.

It happened Friday near Tohatchi north of Gallup.

The Navajo Nation says Achley Levier was trying to save a dog from an arroyo when she fell in. Her father, Jay Levier jumped in after her and both were swept away.
