An Oklahoma man who escaped from a courthouse after being convicted of child abuse has been captured.
Forty-eight-year-old Shelby Maier escaped from the McClain County Courthouse Tuesday after a jury convicted him of child abuse.
Maier was being escorted to jail and was in an elevator with a deputy when he pushed past him before the elevator doors closed and fled from the courthouse.
Authorities say Maier was found around four hours later at a home with his girlfriend only a mile away from the courthouse.
Maier now faces a charge of escape while his girlfriend Lisa Snowden is accused of harboring a fugitive.
