Smoke at Wells Fargo data center linked to outages

(KRQE) - Wells Fargo has issued a report after outages limited access to the bank's online and mobile banking Thursday.

The business stated late Thursday night that ATM services were restored and were now accessible to customers. However, while online banking and mobile systems were functioning, some features like consumer credit card and mortgage balances were still being restored.

Contact center systems are working as well, customers may just experience longer wait times.

The bank's report didn't mention the cause of the outage stating that they will provide updates as services are fully operational again.

According to the Associated Press, smoke was the cause of the malfunctions and that workers discovered the problem during maintenance.

The incident was allegedly reported in Shoreview, Minnesota although Wells Fargo did not mention the center's exact location or what caused the source of the smoke.
