Lawmakers want to hear from you regarding a plan to temporarily store nuclear fuel in southern New Mexico.

In 2015 officials in Lea and Eddy County struck a deal with Holtec International to build a temporary storage site between Hobbs and Carlsbad.

On Thursday, a New Mexico Legislative Committee will hear from the public at the Center of Recreational Excellence in Hobbs.

You can also submit comments to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission by July 30.
