Would you travel more than 6,000 miles to save your sick dog?

That’s what one New Jersey couple did, flying all the way to Japan so their dog Remy could receive treatment.

Remy, an eight-year-old Cavalier King Charles who was diagnosed with a form of degenerative heart failure was given six to eight months to live.

Her doctor told her owner Cathy Cuni, only one man could perform the heart bypass surgery and he lives in Japan.

The cost of everything, including travel would be around $25,000.

The couple had to borrow from their 401(k) and take a month off of work.

After a seven-hour surgery, Remy’s operation was a success.
