Husbands and wives teamed up in Montana last weekend for the first ever Rocky Mountain Wife Carrying Competition.
The contest, held in Bozeman, originated in Finland and consists of men carrying their wives on their backs through a series of obstacles including a mud pit, a median wall and dirt ramp.
There a five-point penalty for dropping your partner.
Adam and Sunny Bacon took part in the competition, signing up just 15-minutes before the race began.
“Someone Googled uh how to get over the hurdles, how to carry and then we went hiding behind the bleachers and just ran a pace or two back and forth and…I didn’t break you,” said Adam Bacon.
The Bacons ended up taking home the title and now qualify for the North American Championships in Maine this October.
