The Durango Humane Society wants you to take a hike.
According to the Herald, the shelter is trying to raise awareness for its Mutts in the Mountains program.
The decade-old initiative allows shelter volunteers to take adoptable dogs on hikes.
Staff at the shelter says the program is good for people without a furry friend of their own to get some exercise and for the dogs to get used to outdoor activities.
Hikes are typically taken in groups no larger than seven.
To participate, you must be a verified volunteer at the shelter.
