La Plata County is getting some help recovering from the 416 wildfire.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced a grant of more than $20 million for wildfire recovery projects.

According to The Durango Herald, four Colorado counties will split the funds including La Plata County.

No word on how much they will receive.

La Plata County Commissioner Gwen Lachelt said the funds will help with the aftermath of the 416 Fire especially flooding.

A flash flood around the 416 Fire burn scar has left a shocking amount of damage including flooding homes with mud and water.
