Fort Lewis College is buying a rafting company.
The Fort Lewis College Foundation says it’s raised enough money to purchase a New Mexico-based river rafting company.
Officials say if the sale goes through, the college will gain ownership of the company’s permits and equipment, then use it to help students access the river.
The foundation says permits will primarily be used by the school’s outdoor pursuits program and students majoring in adventure education.
