Fort Lewis College is going smoke-free after Colorado’s governor banned smoking on the grounds of all state facilities.
Gov. John Hickenlooper signed the executive order earlier this month, saying it was inspired by studies showing Colorado has the highest rates in the country of vaping and e-cigarette use among teens.
Those devices are included in the ban, along with regular cigarettes and pipes.
Fort Lewis and other state colleges that didn’t already have smoke-free campuses are now making the switch.
