Durango schools to receive over $500,000 for security grant

Schools in southern Colorado will receive new money to bolster security.

According to The Durango Herald, the Durango school district received more than $521,000 from a state grant.

It will go towards communication equipment and training staff on emergency operations and plans.

The money will be available in the new year and the district plans on getting the new system up and running right away.
