It’s nearly antler-shedding season for deer and elk, and the National Park Service wants to remind people not to take them from certain public lands.
Collecting antlers is allowed on private property, as well as U.S. Forest Service and BLM Land. However, it’s illegal on National Park Service land, including Bandelier and the Valles Caldera, where taking anything from the land is prohibited.
Anyone caught taking antlers can be fined or banned from the area for life.
