Mother’s Day spending to reach $2.3 billion

The National Retail Federation is predicting people will spend a near-record $23.1 billion on Mother’s Day.

On average, Americans are expected to shell out $180 per person on gifts ranging from flowers to electronics. 

The expected spending would be second only to last yearโ€™s $23.6 billion, the highest in the 15-year history of the survey at an average $186 per person.
