ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – If there’s one thing Albuquerque is not lacking it’s performances on stage. The newest act, The Penelopiad, has an all female cast put on by Mother Road Theatre.
Margaret Atwood’s daring response to Homer’s The Odysseus, the antagonist, Penelope, recounts her life’s story and the murder of her twelve handmaidens by her vengeful husband Odysseus. This story brings a classic myth to a modern day vision.
Atwood is the author of more than 40 volumes of poetry, both fiction and non-fiction, and children’s literature. Her best known work is from 1969, The Edible Woman.
Catch this show Thursday, April 23 through Saturday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, April 26 at 2:30 p.m. at the AirDance ArtSpace.
