Finding unique and fun activities to do across the city can sometimes be a difficult task, especially if you’re on a budget.

But if you do find yourself struggling, you’re in luck because there are quite a few events happening in Albuquerque this week.

16th Annual Edgewood Music & Arts Festival

Details: Head to the mountain for foot-stomping bluegrass, western swing and country music at the 16th Annual Edgewood Music & Arts Festival. Featuring Karl Shifelett & Big Country Show, Wood & Wire and the Cowboy Way – as well as several other bands. Between performances catch jam sessions and workshops with the bands or shop at the art fair. Work up an appetite dancing and enjoy a chuckwagon-style barbecue in the beer garden. All proceeds benefit the Wildlife West Nature Park.

Performance: Show up ABQ

Details: This free live show in Civic Plaza is an opportunity to see all of the impressive talent that is made right here in the Duke City. Two performance stages allow for multiple artists to showcase their work at the same time – and plenty for the audience to see. From jazz music to pop punk, to rap, there is plenty of music to enjoy. Don’t miss amazing dance performances from the Pojoaque Hoop Dancers, a youth group from the Pojoaque pueblo that performs traditional dance, or Chloe Edeal, an aerial acrobat who will perform a jaw-dropping aerial silk performance, and many more!

Caturday: Cat Café & Craft Market

Details: Support a great cause and maybe adopt a new friend at the Caturday: Cat Café & Craft Market. There will be a special lower adoption fee for felines, a “catcentric” craft fair to pick up gifts for you or your furry friend. Grab a bite to eat at the outdoor cat café will feature food from Curbside Pies, Pizza Pets & Nonsense, Joe Coffee and Green Growler Smoothies.

2018 Zoo Music Concert Series: Ryan McGarvey

Details: There are just two performances left in this year’s Zoo Music Concert Series. On Friday, Ryan McGarvey will be performing. Widely considered to be a “star on the rise”, this award-winning Blues artist is also an Albuquerque native! McGarvey spends most of his time touring around the world, so catch him in town while you can. Most zoo exhibits will stay open until 8:00 p.m.

Rail Yards Market

Details: So much more than a typical farmer’s market. At the Railyards Market, you can peruse 100’s of New Mexico’s finest food, farm and artisan vendors. There are always numerous delicious food trucks to choose from. Local musicians perform throughout the day. There are hands-on educational stations for kids and adults. All of this and more is showcased in one of the most unique venues Albuquerque has to offer.

Film: Wonder Woman    

Details: A part of their Summer Break Movies Series, the South Broadway Cultural center has a free showing of Wonder Woman this afternoon. There will be free popcorn and water provided, but be sure to bring your snacks and candy for this exciting film. At 2:00 PM, there will be an additional showing of the film in Spanish.

Date and Time: Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Spanish showing at 2:00 p.m.

Tasty Tuesdays

Details: Every Tuesday this summer head on out to Hyder Park to enjoy local food truck fare; featuring the Supper Truck, Nomad’s BBQ, and Pop Fizz – among others. There is always live music, face-painting and yoga instruction to enjoy as well.
