Westside Summerfest

Celebrate summer at the final Summerfest of the season; this time, on Albuquerque’s west side.

Savor delicious food from any of the many food trucks, shop from local artisans, grab a drink from the Microbrew Garden featuring local wine, beer, and spirits and watch as the kids enjoy a variety of exciting and fun activities.

Live entertainment will include national headliner Ozomatli who hails from LA and has a sound that combines classic to modern Latino, hip-hop, urban, and other world styles all into one contagious sound.

Bosque Chile Festival

Celebrate food, art, and culture with an emphasis on the one-and-only famous New Mexico chile right on the banks of the Rio Grande.

 Festivities include agricultural workshops, kids’ activities, food trucks, chef demonstrations, wine, beer, and so much more.

Exhibit: Da Vinci, the Genius

This incredible exhibit was so popular that it has been extended through the end of this month.

 Da Vinci, the Genius is the most comprehensive traveling exhibition on Leonardo da Vinci ever assembled and is designed to be accessible to a broad range of people from novice to expert, children to adults, and includes interactives and activities that introduce visitors to a broad range of his artistic and scientific endeavors.

Performance: “Nine” the Musical

Tony Award-winning musical, Nine, is coming to Musical Theater Southwest for a performance that tells the story about a celebrated film director and his attempts to come up with a plot for his next film as he is pursued by hordes of beautiful women, all claiming to be loved by him and him alone.

Flashbacks reveal the substance of his life that will become the material for his next film: a musical version of the Casanova story.

Movies on the Plaza: The Greatest Showman

Check out the blockbuster hit, The Greatest Showman on the Civic Plaza’s new state-of-the-art video wall and enjoy a movie set to the beautiful Albuquerque summer evenings.

Aquarium Overnight

Pack up your pajamas and pillow for the ultimate sleepover.

 The theme for the August Aquarium sleepover is “Sleeping with the Sharks” and provides the opportunity to explore the Aquarium at night and learn in depth about ocean animals.

 Guests will have the chance to meet marine animals up close at the touch pools, play games, create crafts with supplies provided and watch a marine movie at the Aquarium theater.

Parents’ Night Out: “Sweet Science!”

Enjoy a date night, just the two of you, while the kids spend an evening learning at Explora!

Staff members will lead exhibit exploration and themed activities including engineering with candy, sugary chemistry experiments and more! Dinner will be included.
