‘Responsible Gaming Association of New Mexico’ helps recognize signs of compulsive gambling

Going to the casino and gambling can be a lot of fun, but can also be the downfall of some people.

Scientists say that gambling triggers a similar reaction in the brain as alcohol or drugs, and can be incredibly addicting in a negative way.

During the holidays, the Responsible Gaming Association of New Mexico (a collaboration of the Native-owned casinos, providing outreach, education and treatment for problem gambling) encourages those who gamble to be aware of signs of compulsive gambling.

It’s important to set limits when you plan on any type of wagering.
