Pet of the Week: Bullitt is a sweet Husky

This week’s “Pet of the Week” honors go to Bullitt.

He is 1 and a 1/2 years old and has a fun loving, adventurous free spirit. Bullitt came to NMDOG from a sad situation. He broke free from his tether, ran out of the yard and got hit by a car on a busy Albuquerque street.

His owner took him to an emergency vet, but was unable to provide the extensive care he needed.

NMDOG was contacted and they took Bullitt into their care for immediate medical treatment. As a result of his run-in with a car, Bullitt’s rear left leg was de-gloved from the knee down.

His bones, muscles and tendons were all intact and there just was no viable skin left to make a repair. Bullitt underwent 2-skin graph procedures and months of post-op recovery, laser treatments, physical therapy and more.

Now, Bullitt is a brand new pup – like nothing ever happened and he will suffer no long term effects from his ordeal. Bullitt is ready to find the forever Husky home of his dreams.

Bullitt will do best in a very active Husky savvy home, with another awesome dog to play with as long as they can keep up with him.

Bullitt is super smart and eager to please. He is a recent graduate of NMDOG obedience class. He is also house trained, crate trained, great with other dogs and all humans, including children.

Bullitt is also in need of a foster home. Please contact NMDOG to learn more and submit your application today by clicking here.
