NYPD Commissioner to speak at Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce meeting

Mornings

On Thursday, September 27, New York City Police (NYPD) Commissioner James P. O’Neill will be the featured speaker at the Greater ABQ Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting.

The event is entitled, “Lessons in Crime-Fighting from One of the Safest Big Cities in the World.”

The Chamber’s advocacy work is heavily focused on improving public safety and reducing crime in the community.

This includes supporting the expansion of community policing programs and the use of technology and data analytics to make policing and prosecution more intelligence-driven and strategic.

NYPD has excelled in each of these areas and has a reputation for being a very safe large city.

Both the City of Albuquerque and the D.A.’s Office have sought guidance and counsel from police and prosecutors in New York City.

The goal is for the Commissioner to showcase the programs and practices that worked to reduce crime in New York City and support New Mexico’s justice system agencies in their efforts to implement similar initiatives in our community.
