NMCAN partners with young people to build community, promote, and lead change.
Since 1990, they have been leveraging community partnerships and volunteerism to improve children and youth’s experiences in foster care.
Currently, they have grown to work with young people impacted by foster care and juvenile justice to improve their transition to adulthood.
Together, they work to:
- Reduce systemic barriers that negatively impact their lives
- Help them learn how to build positive community networks and strengthen their sense of belonging
- Access tools to achieve goals related to education, employment, health, housing, and personal finance
During the legislative session, NMCAN is supporting young people to build relationships with legislators to inform them about these issues.
The 2019 Legislative Session will run through March 16, 2019.
