The New Mexico National Guard Family Assistance Fund helps Guardsmen in financial trouble.
New Mexico House Bill 47 passed in February off 2018, allowing the fund to be used at the discretion of the Adjutant General.
In August of 2018, the New Mexico National Guardsmen and women began applying and receiving approval for the financial assistance. Guardsmen apply through their local Family Assistance Center and meet with Personal Financial Counselor on long term solution.
A packet is then submitted to Senior Leaders, approved and sent to the Department of Military Affairs for payout.
