Horse rescue to host volunteer training challenge

Mornings

‘Walkin N Circles Ranch’ is a non-profit horse rescue in Edgewood that rehabilitates and finds adoptive homes for abandoned, abused, and neglected horses. Currently, it is competing against 175 other national horse rescue organizations for a chance at one hundred and fifty thousand dollars in grants from the ASPCA “Help a Horse” home challenge. The non-profit receives no government funding and relies on donations and grants to survive. It’ll be scored on the number of the horse adoptions from now until June 30.

To help build awareness about the horses that are available for adoption, ‘Walkin N Circles’ is hosting a volunteer training challenge and adopt-a-thon on Saturday, May 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stanley Cyclone Center Arena in Stanley, New Mexico close to Edgewood.

People are invited to attend the free, family-friendly event and cheer on volunteers and horses. There will be lunch and a silent auction of items available to buy.
