First annual George R.R. Martin Scholarship gives film students a Boost in New Mexico

Mornings

Over the years, New Mexico has become a hot spot for some of Hollywoods biggest films.

The talent right here in our state runs deep, especially at the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA).

So much so in fact, that it caught the eye of legendary American novelist George R.R. Martin, who decided to create a scholarship for film students right here in the state.

One of the main reasons Martin decided to support IAIA’s cinematic arts program is because of its continued emphasis on meaningful storytelling.

This scholarship program will provide aspiring filmmakers with the ability to further their careers and dreams.
