This week in Albuquerque is filled with a dazzling parade, dirt bike racing and plenty of New Mexican holiday traditions.

2018 Festival of Trees – Weekend of Wonder 

The Convention Center will be transformed into a winter wonderland this weekend at the 2018 Festival of Trees.

This annual fundraiser is a two-day celebration of the work done by Carrie Tingley Hospital, and the children they serve.

With over 80 uniquely decorated trees and a variety of centerpieces and wreaths available for purchase, there is plenty of holiday cheer to go around.

Complimentary coffee, cocoa, children’s crafts and pictures with Santa make this a perfect event for the whole family.

30th Annual Winter Spanish Market 

Authentic 400-year-old traditions and innovative Spanish Colonial style artwork made by New Mexican artists will be on display this weekend.

The market will include art, local music, food, demonstrations and more.

Interact personally with extraordinary artists; learn about their traditions and take home special items to add to a collection or to give as a gift.

Twinkle Light Parade 

Albuquerque’s brightest celebration returns to Nob Hill this Saturday.

This family-friendly event will roll down Central Avenue featuring hundreds of floats, marching bands, cars, and bikes – all covered in dazzling, sparkling lights.

 Of course, look out for Santa Claus who will be making a special appearance.

The Goods: Pop-Up Shop 

The City of Albuquerque has partnered with downtown property owners to feature pop-up shops throughout the rest of this year.

‘The Goods’ features art and lifestyle accessories from the Duke City’s finest artisans.

Shop handcrafted hats, paintings, jewelry, furniture and more.

Performance: Christmas in New Mexico 

This annual holiday show is a whirlwind extravaganza, taking audiences on a journey through the sights and sounds of Christmas in New Mexico.

Performers pay homage to the song and dance of traditional Southwestern flair that has been cultivated in our state throughout many years.

This production features a large multigenerational cast and a special guest performance by Mariachi Tapatio from El Paso.

Kicker Arenacross

An off-road motorcycle racing competition, featuring anywhere from 300 to 700 dirt-bike riders is making a pit stop in Albuquerque.

The nation’s most elite racers compete nightly on a man-made dirt racing course, traveling the country to battle for accolades and accumulate overall series points.

The Cherry Reel Film Festival 

Students at the University of New Mexico will have the opportunity to showcase their films with a special screening.

Last year, the festival had over 70 student films submitted, with 17 being chosen to premiere at the festival.

Genres range from Comedy to Science Fiction to Documentaries and much more.
