CoCoRaHS (pronounced “cocoa-raa-z”) is a network of volunteers who have a passion for weather and a desire to help out our community by taking precipitation measurements.
CoCoRaHS or Community Collaborative Rain Hail and Snow network is nation-wide but they have more than 500 active observers in New Mexico who enter their rain, hail or snow observations each day.
Dave DuBois is the state coordinator for CoCoRaHS and partner with the National Weather Service as regional coordinators to manage this group.
They also have county coordinators to help out in answering questions and recruiting new observers.
CoCoRaHS is always looking for new volunteers,
The next opportunity to meet is at the New Mexico Super STEM Saturday on February 23rd, 2019, at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
