CNM Program Offers Different Approach to Traditional Cosmetology School

Mornings

Central New Mexico Community College now has a cosmetology program.

The difference between their school and a private Cosmetology School is that their students graduate with an Associates of Applied Sciences degree. They have a Spring ’19 graduating class of 13 students.

In the cosmetology program, there is a student-run salon called Suncat Salon, which is open to the public offering hair, nail, and skin services.

CNM offers a Pivot Point International-based curriculum. This program’s first term courses after pre-requisites are offered fall term and spring term only.
