Build Your Refuge Day in the Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge

Build Your Refuge Day is a public and family friendly event that will be held this Saturday, September 29 from 10 am to 2 pm.

Volunteers will come down to Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge, and help construct the first trail in the refuge.

The first three hours will center around trail building and the last our will be a celebration of the accomplishment.

Tools and training will be provided, but you are required to bring closed toed shoes and a hat to protect yourself from the sun.

If you don’t feel like volunteering, you’re welcome to hang out or contribute in other ways.

There will be partner booths and food trucks.

There will also be four charrettes, in which you can share your ideas about the upcoming visitor’s centers being built, as well as share your history with the refuge.

The event is free, but bring cash for the food trucks.
