Monitor reviews case involving Albuquerque career criminal

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The monitoring team overseeing police reforms within the Albuquerque Police Department is reviewing a case involving a career criminal, according to the Albuquerque Journal.

Police say they spotted Majestic Howard in a stolen bait vehicle last October.

He was arrested after they disabled the vehicle and chased him.

In their report police said they kneed Howard in the body, but the monitor says video shows them kneeing him in the head and Howard losing consciousness.

The monitoring team says they’re concerned over how long it took supervisors to investigate the knee strike.

APD says several officers are facing discipline.
