Downtown Albuquerque is about to get a little brighter.

The Downtown Arts and Cultural district has announced $6,000 in grants to pay for several downtown art projects.

One of them will be a mural at the Three Sisters Community space at 109 Gold Avenue SW, the other will be at the Circus Art Gallery at 709 Central SW.

A series of sculptures will also be created for other areas.

The projects are designed to not only brighten up the city, but to also highlight emerging artists and promote business in the area.
