ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham has filed as a gubernatorial candidate in 2018.

Lujan Grisham made the announcement Tuesday. She released a video explaining her decision.

In the video Lujan Grisham takes a jab at the current administration saying, “We won’t solve our problems overnight. It’s why this is a beginning. But for the last six years with a governor who refused to acknowledge the problems even exist … we haven’t been able to solve anything.”

Lujan Grisham was elected to New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District in 2012. Prior to that, she served as a Bernalillo County Commissioner and as a Cabinet Secretary for three different governors.
