With more and more people ditching hotels to stay at Airbnbs, KRQE News 13 wanted to know where the priciest rentals are in the metro, and just how much people are willing to spend a night.
According to the Airbnb website, the priciest home to stay at in the metro area is right at $1,500 a night.
The house is in Corrales, and owner Joe Romero said it’s priced high for a reason — it’s his home.
“We divided what a ‘nice’ hotel was and plus they got inside, outside patios, three, four fireplaces…I mean, the full kitchen,” Romero said.
Since he currently lives in it, he doesn’t want to rent it out all the time.
“This is just a fun thing where we rent it for the big occasions,” he said.
Some Airbnb renters say when the price is set high, they do get some unusual requests. The owner of a home in the Nob Hill area said she always has to make sure there’s a duck floatie in the pool to match the online photo.
People who KRQE News 13 spoke with said if the price is high, “It better be pretty nice. It better come with a butler.”
The owners of the Airbnbs say they do bump the prices during special occasions like Balloon Fiesta and the holiday season.
