There will be a meeting about crosswalk improvements on Louisiana near Cleveland Middle School where a young girl was recently killed.
Eliza Justine Almuina, 12, was hit and killed while using the crosswalk that has no stop sign or lights at the crossing.
Albuquerque’s Department of Municipal Development is designing improvements at that intersection including a ‘high intensity activated crosswalk’ that pedestrians could activate on their own even after school hours.
Thursday, there is a meeting to update the public on those plans.
That’s happening at 5:30 p.m. at Cleveland Middle School.
