ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Dancers from one local school perform the traditional Irish dance for St. Patrick’s Day.

The McTeggart School of Irish Dance joined KRQE’s This Morning team to perform a traditional Irish jig Thursday.  Mary Chessman, an instructor at the school, discussed the dance and how those who are interested can join classes. Watch above.

Those ages four and up can join the classes, which are held on Thursdays and Sundays.

Students not only learn how to dance, but the lessons also teach value and dedication to practice, learn to compete gracefully and exhibit good sportsmanship, stage presence and performance skills.
