Mayor Tim Keller has vetoed an ordinance that city council passed approving funding for TopGolf.

The $2.6 million package would help the Dallas-based company build a three-story entertainment complex near I-25 and Montano at the old Beach Water Park.

The mayor says the project doesn’t protect taxpayer money or create enough high-paying jobs.

The mayor’s veto forces councilors to revisit the bill when they meet again next month.

However, councilors could override the mayor and fund TopGolf anyway.
