A storm system is dropping down the West Coast but it will take at least another 24 hours to impact New Mexico.
Look for mostly sunny skies on Wednesday with occasionally breezy conditions across the northeast. As the storm rolls over California and turns toward New Mexico moisture will begin to pull into the state from east to west. Showers will breakout across areas east of the central mountain chain on Thursday. Those storms will push gusty winds and the chance for storms into the metro area Thursday afternoon.
Scattered storms remain in the forecast through the weekend as the storm system passes to work north in pieces.
