Marijuana tax bill passes house committee vote


SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – A bill that would legalize and tax recreational marijuana moves forward.

Saturday, a house committee passed the bill by a 3-1 vote. Representatives Bill McCamley and Javier Martinez sponsored the bill.

Local governments would choose whether to allow marijuana sales in their area and could collect a five percent tax.
