Marijuana shops in Durango could face new rules

News

DURANGO, Colo. (KRQE) – Marijuana business in Durango could face new rules this spring.

The Durango City Council is looking to impose a 250-foot radius between marijuana shops. The goal is to create a better buffer.

The rule would replace the current rule that limits marijuana shops downtown to one per block.

Councilors expect to hear from residents before they vote on it.

Recreational pot is legal in the state of Colorado, and because Durango is on the border it gets a lot of traffic.
