Man’s journey raises awareness for Childhood Cancer Camps

News

A California man on a 4,000-mile mission made a stop here in Albuquerque this weekend.

Kevin Fern is walking from Manhattan Beach to Boston over the next several months.

He is pushing an IV pole to raise awareness and money for Childhood Cancer Camps.

Fern was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma when he was a teen and says a camp helped him get through it.

“It changed my life. And here I am, 50 years old. So it’s impacted me that greatly over 30 years. That camp is hugely special and important,” said Fern.

Fern is now cancer-free but wants to help others through his IV Pole Walk.
