ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Judgement day is set for the man who murdered 11-year-old Ashlynne Mike.
Tom Begaye will be sentenced on October 20 after pleading guilty last month to kidnapping Ashlynne and her brother on the Navajo Nation as the two were walking home form school in May 2016.
Begaye then sexually assaulted and killed Ashlynne near the Shiprock Monument.
The boy got away.
As part of the plea agreement, Begaye will get life in prison without the possibility of parole.
