The man who allegedly crashed a stolen car and then was shot by police will stay behind bars for a while.
According to police, Pedro Escalante was speeding when he hit a spike strip and then hit another car near Grove and Bell earlier this month. He took off and police opened fire, hitting him.
Monday in court, the state requested to keep him locked up until trial was approved by Judge Cindy Leos.
The state argued he remains a danger to the community.
