Man suing Albuquerque police set to be sentenced

News

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The career criminal who’s suing the Albuquerque Police Department for police brutality is set to be sentenced Thursday. In October Nicholas Blume pled guilty to being a felon with a gun.

Blume faces 10 years in federal prison. Blume was arrested last year after a fight with his girlfriend. Just a day before that arrest he sued two APD cops who were caught on tape in 2011 hitting and kicking Blume while he was down.

The two cops were fired and both officers are now suing APD to get their jobs back. They were trying to kick Blume’s arm out from under him to make sure he didn’t have a weapon.
