Man sentenced to prison after Carlsbad motel shooting


CARLSBAD, N.M (KRQE) – The man caught on surveillance video shooting a man after trying to rob him will spend the next 19 years in prison.

Last March, Louis Calderon was seen trying to break into cars in the parking lot of the Great Western Motel in Carlsbad before shooting the victim.

That victim survived. Calderon was charged with attempted murder.

He was sentenced to 19 years.
